- Egyptian Arabian and Straight Egyptian are pretty much the same thing, saying Straight just emphasizes the point that they only have Egyptian bred horses in their pedigree. There are also Crabbets (English bred), Spanish, and Polish. Polish and Egyptian lines are most common in the US. Egyptian lines usually produce a smaller, extremely "typey" horse. "Typey" means their Arabian characteristics are very defined or exaggerated. Polish bred Arabians derive from Arabians bred in the Poland Stud. Bask is a big influence on the Polish line. They are generally more predisposed to performance and tend to be less "hot" than the Egyptian Arabs. I personally prefer Polish bred Arabians. They just seem to have better personalities and a steadier mind than the Egyptians. In general, Polish horses are more popular on the Arab circuit at this time.
- Egyptian arab and straight egyptain are more or less the same thing but the straight is putting more into the fact that it has only egyptain blood lines. As the first answer stated and i agree with, i too prefer the polish line due to the fact they seem to have more of a head on them and not be as hot as the egyptian lines. they're built slightly different as in slightly thicker for an arab. their personalities i also enjoy more then the egyptian lines, but that's not too fair of me considering i have rarely worked with the egyptian line/arab.
- The conformation between the three is slightly different. Straight egyptian arabians have a deeply dished face and a thick neck at the base. Egyptian arabians are very sleek and defined, and seem streamlined. Arabians Are thicker in body and seem to be in between the other two in body stucture. Also the gaits are slightly different.
- I am with Mel on this one. Polish bred arabs are very easy to work with.
