Horses Arabian

guess what/////Arabian horses needing rescue?

The owner of the 30 dead horses in Alberta will receive proceeds from the sale of the surviving horses after the spca recovers their costs. Guess what--he will then be able to pay his fines. Have you ever heard anything so stupid???The breeder's name is Hinz-Schleuter Arabians. The auction is in Clyde, Alberta north of Edmonton on Thursday March 13th. They also found dead rabbits, goats and sheep as well as the 100 remaining hungry horses. Look on the internet under "horses die in Alberta" Thank you. As of today the horses in Alberta are not going to Auction but to a farm to be properly cared for until homes can be found. Thank you for your interst.

  1. What????? Thank you, I will look into this.
  2. Not trying to be argumentative, but how would you propose to finish up the deal and do it legal? They are his horses, albeit mistreated, and were taken from him...so, I do think that from the proceeds should come the cost of the feed for them in the interim, sales expense, vet services, etc...but after that, the rest is his with which to pay his fines, right?
  3. I am sick over this.........why was the other Q deleted that referenced this? Anyway, this guy has *Enrilo. the Polish National Champion. I KNOW this horse and was in Scottsdale the year he was imported. I was at the Open Barn to see the new imports. There are many previous top show winners and quality horses in this man's herd. Over a hundred more needing help and I understand most will go to slaughter if not sold/ adopted. If you can't feed them for God's sake give them to someone who can or ask for help. This just ties me up in knots. Can someone please tell me why the Humane Society waited over 2 years to take these horses when they had the complaints to seize them earlier? There is another group of 23 in Eastover, SC that need help as well. They seem to have a better handle on things. I hope this is not an omen of times to come.........with the expenses, feed, everything sky-rocketing, it is an extreme burden on the average person/ family to have a large animal. The burden for caring people is that we can't help them all and it tears me up. Sorry, but this really gets to me.
  4. There is a facebook page in regards to this. From what I understand as of today the horses are not going to Auction and instead going to a Arabian breeding facility to recover. A account will be set up to cover the costs, and as of yet it is unknown whether the adoption process will be handled by the owner or the Alberta SPCA. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=23881927680
