Can an arab horse that has won all top high points still go sanction shows with the arabian horse association? My Arabian horse has won in the past the top of all high points, as a stallion, in the Arabian Horse Association and I was wondering if I can still show him as a gelding in the Arabian Horse Association.
Points when showing at an Arabian Horse Association recognised show? I didn't even know you could get points in AHA until recently because I don't show breed shows (I do eventing/jumpers). But I also recently found out the one of the AHA recognised shows in my area is going to be doing jumpers this year... So how do points work? And what are they for?
Would the half arabian horse association take my purebred? I have a 4 year old arab mare and looked in 2 registering her which she is not eligible for with the purebred arabian horse association. Im just wondering if she would be eligible for the Half Arabian Horse Association? Her sire is registered with AHA and so is her dam but they both have passed on 2 years ago would she be eligible for that or should I register her as a grade? ;'''lllllllllllllll\ Ok my mares dam and sire are deceased and the AHA says that I need a unit of the dams blood to get her registered but she has been gone for 2 years so I was wondering since I have absolutely no way of getting that blood if the HAHA would take her I am a member of AHA and am pretty sure since her sire is also dead that she is also ineligible for the HAHA which i have looked into the grade horse registery and it takes purebreds and grades to ensure that if your horse is stolen you have the best possibility of retrieving him/her. I just want to no yhe qualifications of the HAHA and the AHA.

Jockey Club or Trotting Association 2. PintoHorse Association or Paint Horse Association 3. American Quarter Horse Association or Appaloosa Club 4. American Morgan Horse Association or Arabian Horse Registry 5. American Shetland Pony Club or Welsh & Cob Society Just some fun for the day!!!

Which executive approach do you think works best; A)Have experts deal with problems in their area of expertise? or B) Have guys who contributed huge amounts to your war chest deal with problems (like Brownie - former head of the Arabian horse association heading up FEMA)
how much would you? Ok, so I am not planning on selling him, I have actually just bought him a few months ago and I want to know what you all would have paid for him. Please be nice too, and no mean comments. His name is Sombra de Windsai. Sombra is a registered (with the arabian horse association) fleaa bitten grey polish arabian gelding. He is 10 years old and 10000000% healthy with no vices. He is the sweetest boy in the world and very sociable with humans. He loves to eat and lick you and sniff your hair. He gets super attached soon and fast. Sombra is 15.1 HH, but can jump so far up to 3'3 ft. He has done 3-day eventing and won many blue ribbons. He is so much willing to please and just a very special boy. He loads, clips, bathes, shoes, with no trouble at all! He gets excited about jumps though and jumps them as big as he can. He is not like most arabs, for he doesn't spook at all. He also trails. Loves attention, but I am 13 and see him everyday and give him lovin everyday too! How much would you pay for him? I payed $4500.00. here he is and me at some shows. He is very photogenic too! http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... he thinks he is a dog, and acts like one too! http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N0... Not just anybody can ride him though, for he is a hot blooded horse and likes to go fast. But if you have a good rider on him and stuff then he will be great for you. He loves to run. I am not selling him, I just want to know how much you would pay for him and if you think I made a good deal. Lets see if these pictures work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2506727047/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2506720025/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2489723156/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2507545184/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2503532055/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2504360026/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2488915301/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2488913723/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2489712678/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2488860021/in/photostream/ this was this old owner jumping him, not me. It is the only pick of someone jumping that I have right now. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26509576@N05/2489722436/in/photostream/ well, I just want to know what others think of him and what they would maybe pay, and if i made a good deal. to me i couldnt put a price on him, not even 100000+ would i sell him I agree Bee G. Ido wish I had more with me in them, I will have to try to get some more. However, I will say he carries himself fine except for his head set. His old owners only always used a martingale on him. So he never learned to cet his head on his own. We are working on it and once we get that done, he should be perfect. i think a foot higher would be nice to trian him in. But first, I need to learn to jump higher, I have only jumped up to 2 ft., he has with other people jumped higher. But i am not ready to go any higher. My trainer jumps him for practice sometimes around 3 or more sometimes. He loves it~
Why DID Bush appoint Michael Brown as head of FEMA? This question isn't really about Katrina, even though most comments about Michael Brown involve Katrina. But just in general, why would you put the ex-director of the "Arabian Show Horse Association," who is also a mid-level lawyer from Oklahoma, in charge of a major government agency whose mandate is disaster relief? What experience did Bush feel Michael Brown would bring to the position? Was he actually the most qualified candidate in the entire country for that position? If not, doesn't that mean Bush was derelict in his duty toward the American people? These are serious questions. Katrina aside, doesn't Michael Brown's appointment demonstrate serious flaws with Bush's model of governance? How do Republicans feel about this? I thought Republicans believed in appointments through "merit," not through personal connections. When did you guys abandon that principle?
SAVE THE TRIPPING HORSES ASSOCIATION? TAKE 5 MINUTES OUT OF YOUR DAY TO READ THIS PLEASE, FOR ALL THE HORSES OUT THERE WHO NEED YOUR HELP! I WANT IDEAS ON HOW THE EQUINE COMMUNITY CAN HELP THE HORSES, AND PUT A STOP TO THE 'HORSE TRIPPING' Imagine the following situation You're in the front row. A bony Arabian mare stands so close you can see the scars on her flanks, and the terror in her eyes. Three men on horseback swoop down on the mare, chasing her with swinging lariats, until she's galloping 25 miles an hour. Each time the mare races round the ring, a fourth man aims a rope at the mare's forelegs. The goal: to topple her to the ground, and win points. This mare has already been lassoed several times - those scars you saw were rope burns that carved away inches of her flesh. But this time the mare won't get up again. She crashes head over heels, breaks her leg, and is euthanized. During horse-tripping events, also known as piales en lienzo, contestants score points for literally tripping horses, bulls, or steers. With the use of electric prods, Mexican cowboys or “charros” force the animals into full gallop and then lasso their hind legs or forelegs, causing the animals to come crashing down to the ground. Witnesses have noted that charros continue to trip animals until they’re lame. Thousands of American horses are severely injured at Mexican-style rodeos each year. “Charros keep tripping horses until they're lame, or until the season's up and the go to the slaughter," says Cathleen Doyle, president of the California Equine Council, which promotes responsible horsemanship. “Horses break legs, necks and teeth. They fracture their shoulders, and batter their knees and hocks. You can see deep gashes on their faces, shoulders, hips, legs and heels. The ropes often burn their flesh down to the bone.” Mike Ross, animal service director for Contra Costa County states, “It's unpredictable. There's an inherent risk of seriously injuring the horse's legs. When that happens, you may end up destroying the animal.” THE NAME SAVE THE TRIPPING HORSES WAS MADE BY CAROL MARIE AND MUST BE PASSED ON! REMEMBER ***SAVE THE TRIPPING HORSES***
Where to register my horse? I just bought an Arabian Polish Mare, she is 6 years old. The vet had told me that she can be registered, but she failed to tell me where I can register her. The person I bought the horse from is my moms friend and she had said the same thing, Also the Sire to my mare was a Champion Halter horse, But she didn't know much are the dam. Which Association would be the best to register her in? However I do know that it will cost about $500 if not more to register her, I have a paint QH that is registered. Thank you for you time. And any information would be helpful in any way.
What should QHs look like when they're being ridden under english? I just purchased this QH mare about 3-4 months ago to use for shows. Mainly for western pleasure and showmanship at halter. I just got into competing pleasure over the summer and got this mare just for that since I really enjoyed. I've ridden english before, but it's not my fave and I enjoy western more, but I want to compete in english to "broaden my horizons" and learn more! This mare has been used for english before and did pretty well, but she had only been ridden a couple times a year for the last year or so due to divorce on the owner. The owner only did western pleasure/horsemanship and showmanship at halter with her, her daughter was the one who did some english with her. So when she was ridden, she was only ridden western for the daughter dropped horseback riding all together. I've ridden her once in english since I got her and I wasn't really paying attention to how she looked since I was trying to get used to english (I only ride english once in a while). Now, I'm planning on definitley showing her in the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) in western pleasure, western horsemanship, and showmanship at halter. Maybe english. Either way, I'm still planning on showing her in english through 4-H and if I can get far enough, I will do english with her in state through 4-H. So, what are Quarter Horses supposed to looke like when they're ridden english? Are they supposed to have their head curved like an Arabian, or straight just like they would while being ridden western? Also, do think it'd be a good idea to show her western and english in AQHA? I really want to get far in western since we both enjoy it so much, so would it screw her up if I did both? Thank you soo much! All answers appreciated! I'm open to anything-videos, pics, advice, anything! I'm also looking into a trainer for western and english since I'm new to the whole pleasure thing (I used to be a hardcore trail rider and gamer), but stil, anything and everything is appreciated!
Are crossbred horses any more legitimate as breeds than hybrid dogs? I'm wondering if the crossbred horse breeds - Azteca, Aralusian, Appendix Quarter Horse, National Show Horse etc. - are considered to be more legitimate than the hybrid dog breeds which have popped up in the last decade or so? For instance, is a Welara Pony (Welsh Pony / Arabian) a legitimate new horse breed if it has its own association and registry? Or is it just the horse-equivalent of something like a Chiweenie (Chihuahua / Dachshund)? Does having an association and registry mean that the standards are rigorous enough so that a new breed can be established? This does seem to distinguish these new horse breeds from most of the hybrid dogs - which don't have registries.
